Christmas was great this year because Zach had an understanding of what to do with the presents, however, he would open a present and want to play with that present rather than opening more. He was a lot of fun and he slept until I woke him up at 9:00 AM. I am sure that will change when he gets a little older.

Our New House
I thought this picture was interesting because the county has updated their records prior to our house even being complete or having final inspection scheduled. We did move in ten days later but the county was a step ahead of us 'assessing' the tax value. This is the picture they have on file for the tax value of our house.

Moving Day
After 3 months and 26 days our house passed the final inspection today and we have moved into our new house. We haven't found a place for all of our stuff yet but we have the beds in place and food in the fridge. The contractor we worked with, Clive T. Roundy and his son Brent Roundy that ran the project were awesome. We were able to get the home we wanted in a short amount of time and we stayed on budget on the project.
We love our new house and hope to have everything set up the way we want it in a few more days. We are spending the night here for the first time and we moved for the last time. Zach is doing great with the change and I think that is because he spent so much time here during construction. Thanks to the Roundy's and all the other contractors that worked on our house for doing a fabulous job building our home.

House Progress: Stucco Stone Cabinets and Flooring
The house is on schedule and almost on budget. The flooring has been installed with the exception of the carpet which will be installed this week. The cabinets are nearly complete and the exterior only needs a railing around the deck and covers for the window wells. The countertops are being prepared and hopefully be installed this week. The house is nearly complete and we are very excited to move in soon.

Summer has come to an end....
Since summer has come to an end and we are almost done building our house I have found some time to post some pictures of our summer!! Zach has had a blast being outside all the time, I think that he would live out there if we would let him. He loves to throw rocks and dirt, swing and go down the slide. He also loves to read books (his favorite is Polar Bear, Polar Bear) but really any book will do, he loves to throw balls and ride his horse. At dinner time he eats all by himself we give him a fork or spoon and he gets about half in his mouth and half flipped on his head or the floor. We took him to his 15 month well check last week and he weighs 26.5 lbs, 32 inches tall and he has 11 teeth! Our Baby Boy is now a Big Boy! Does anyone know how to hit the slowmotion button! They grow way too fast!!
He got a slide for his 1st Birthday!
This June we went to Palisade State Park camping with the Davis Family! It was so much fun.
Zach just hangin out in the stroller!
Swimming in his baby pool!
Swinging at Grandma and Grandpa Davis' house!

House Progress: Doors and floors 9/19/2008
Another week has passed and the house continues to get closer to completion. This week the hardwood floor was installed along with closet organizers, trim, stair railing and the garage door. The interior walls, ceiling and trim should be painted late next week and all of the wood inside should be stained. Then we will be ready for cabinets, counter tops, tile and carpet.

House Progress: 9/12/2008 Stucco & Trim
The work has started on the interior trim and the interior doors have been installed. The exterior is being worked on as the soffit and fascia is being installed as I write this. The stucco and stone should be complete within the week. Things are moving quickly and it looks like the project is still on schedule.

House Progress: Street Improvements asphalt
These picures were given to me by Zach's Grandma & Grandpa. The street improvements are completed as you can see in the pictures above. The asphalt only took half a day with two full crews working on it but the prep work took a little longer than that. The house is still coming along and we hope to be living in it soon.

House Progress 9/4/2008: prepping for stucco & stone and wall texture
The house changed from being plywood on the outside to being wrapped in black and covered in chicken wire which apparently will hold the stucco and stone on the facade of the house. The walls have been textured and the street improvements are now done. We will have the street improvements inspected tomorrow and hopefully the exterior and finish work will begin on the house next week.

House Progress: Insulation and sheet rock 8/27/2008
Zach is sleeping better now that the insulation is in and the sheet rock has been completed throughout the house. Now insulation will need to be blown in on top of the sheet rock to finish insulating the house. The sheet rock passed inspection today and the contracter has started taping and doing whatever else they need to do.
We are going to start picking out the interior finish products like doorknobs, interior doors, stair rail, etc. tomorrow. The curb, gutter, sidewalk and handicap ramp have been installed and we should get asphalt soon to patch across the road and to connect the existing road to the curb and gutter.
I am not sure what order everything goes in now but things are still moving quickly.

House Progress: 4-way inspection and curb gutter and sidewalk 8/20/2008
I haven't posted anything for a few days but it isn't because progress wasn't being made on the house. We just passed the 6 week mark which was on the 18th and the plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning have been roughed in and the doors and windows have been installed. The deck has been built and the sidewalk is in and the curb and gutter will be completed tomorrow. The fireplace was installed today and they will begin insulating the house tomorrow. I am excited to see what the next six weeks will bring.

House Progress: Plumbing 8/9/2008
The rough plumbing has been completed on our house and all the subs are getting in and out quickly. The HVAC company has started cutting holes in the floor and they should be back next week to get the ducts ran and install the furnace.
Zach has a lot of fun seeing the progress on our house and he isn't afraid to pick up a broom and help clean up at the end of the day.

House Progress: road crossing and a few shingles
A few days have gone by since the last post and we have made more progress with the house although the progress is a little less visible. The 400 east road crossing is complete thanks to John and Lindon. The waterline trench is ready to have the waterline ran to the house and the plumbing has been started. I will post more updates tomorrow.
